흔하지 않은 남자의 흔한 고백, 제리케이의 “연애담2”

지난 해 정규 2집 “TRUE SELF”로 한국대중음악상 최우수 랩/힙합 앨범부문에 노미네이트 되었던 제리케이(Jerry.k)가, 새 미니앨범 “연애담2”를 발표한다.

힙합판 ‘벚꽃 엔딩’으로 불리며 대표적인 봄 노래로 자리잡은 ‘화창한 봄날에 (feat. Kuan)’가 수록되었던 앨범 “연애담: 생각해 볼만한 사랑 이야기”의 연작인 이번 “연애담2”는, 전작과 마찬가지로 제리케이만의 시선으로 바라본 사랑과 연애에 대한 스토리를 담고 있으며, 더욱 깊어진 랩, 가사와 함께 스스로 프로듀스한 곡들을 통해 자신의 색채를 분명히 한 앨범이다.

‘듣는 편지’, ‘넋’ 등으로 놀라운 실력을 보여준 천재 보컬리스트 40(Forty), 최근 믹스테입 “R&B Boy”를 통해 주목 받는 신예 보컬리스트 리코(Rico)가 피쳐링으로 참여했으며, 빈지노(Beenzino)의 “24 : 26”와 힙합파티 “Back N Forth”의 아트웍 디렉터 INCH가 앨범 아트웍을 담당했다.

타이틀곡 ‘흔해’는, 자신을 실제보다 훨씬 멋진 사람으로 생각해주는 연인에게 갖는 보통 남자의 소극적인 심리와, 더 특별한 사람이 되고 싶다는 진심 어린 고백을 위트있게 담아낸 트랙으로, 통통 튀는 멜로디와 묵직한 드럼라인의 조화가 독특한 곡이다.

After being nominated for the best rap/hip hop album with his official 2nd album “TRUE SELF” at the Korean Music Awards of last year, Jerry.k releases his new mini album “Love Talk 2.”

“Love Talk 2” is said to be a continuation from first mini album, “Love Talk: A Love Worth Thinking About,” which also housed the track “On a Bright Spring Day” featuring artist Kuan that was donned as the hip hop version of “Cherry Blossom Ending (by Busker Busker).” In this album, Jerry.k continues to tell stories of love and relationship through his perspective and shows off his unique color through his tracks that were written and produced by himself. Artists such as 40 (Forty), who has been titled as the gifted vocalist as he showcased his surprising talent through “A Letter You Listen To” and “Soul,” took part in featuring for the album but also it’s said that rising vocalist Rico took part in the album as well. Meanwhile, art director INCH who had designed for both “24:26” off of Beenzino’s album and for the hip hop party “Back N Forth” was in charge of the artwork for this album.

The title track “Ordinary Man” talks about the passive feelings an average male feels when his lover thinks of him as something greater than what he really is and the lyrics are written wittily to convey an earnest confession of a man wanting to become an even more special person to their lover. The track is a unique track as it’s a combination of both a bouncy melody mixed in with a heavy drum line.

5 tracks from “Love Talk: A Love Worth Thinking About,” which was sold out last year, will be included as bonus tracks. You’ll get the autographed CD when you pre-order.
